At first glance Fish Story - A Modern Fable for Big Kids and Grownups may seem like a simple tale about two guppies, Five and his sister Eleven, who struggle to survive in the violent “fish-eat-fish” world into which they were born. Eleven is content just to live out her days with the other fish, but Five suspects there is more to life and something bigger beyond their limited world and he is determined to find out what that is.

I specifically wrote it as a fable, which you may know is a story with animal characters intended to teach a lesson. I’m not sure what the lesson may be, or if there is any lesson at all. You will have to decide for yourself. After you read it maybe you will drop me a line to let me know the lesson you learned.
